Runecharms for Fertility, Pregnancy and Childbirth
Runes are an ancient Germanic alphabet used throughout northern Europe, the British Isles and Scandinavia. They were used for writing, divination and magic. Each of the three rune charms shown is made of several runic symbols combined into a "bindrune" and charged with its magical intent.
Here's how to use the rune charms. Print the graphic. If you can only print in black and white, trace each symbol in red ink or red marker while concentrating on the symbol's purpose. If you print in color, tracing the symbols with your finger will do. (Traditionally one would stain the charms with blood. Menstrual blood would be excellent for this purpose.)
Pray or do a ritual to consecrate each individual charm and charge it with its purpose. Call upon the power of God/dess, the Universal Life Force, or whatever is appropriate for your beliefs. I have consecrated each of these, but they should be charged to YOU personally.
Carry the piece of paper with you in a pocket or in your wallet. Lay it under your pillow or on your night table when you sleep. The charms will last as long as the piece of paper. If you want to make more sturdy charms, you could carve and paint the symbols onto pieces of wood. (Do NOT laminate the piece of paper. You could, however, make several copies of the graphic.)
For a double whammy for fertility, make a print and cut out just the fertility charm for your partner to carry also. You could also draw the fertility symbol on your foreheads with saliva before making love. An old Icelandic rune magic book suggests that one carve a pregancy/fertility charm into a piece of cheese. Then eat the cheese!
Please let me know if the charms work for you. I welcome email questions about runes, too. Sunlight on your path,
